Mountain City’s July 4 celebration schedule

 

The Town of Mountain City Independence Day celebration will get underway at 10 a.m. Friday morning with the second annual Horseshow Throw Tournament.  The skillet throw toss will return again this year at 2 p.m. with open registration for both events at the Ralph Stout Park. 

The town will partner with the Chamber of Commerce, Johnson County Government and the local Kiwanis organization to make the event a success. 

This year’s celebration will again feature a salute to veterans at 5 p.m. at the bandstand in the park, all leading up to the parade down Main Street at 7 p.m., along with music featuring local talent and the fireworks show around dark. 

The majority of events take place at the Ralph Stout Park in Mountain City.
